Major news since V1.x include:
- No DLLPAK needed anymore.
- Loading .VP files is a lot faster.
- Included previewer for .ANI, .VBM, .WAV, .TGA and .PCX files
(more are planned).
- Directory shown as tree (was a "flat" list box before).
- Now with .VPP reading support for Summoner and Red Faction
(PC+PlayStation, all demo and full versions).
- NEW! FileInfo-tab lists information about the files
(e.g. PCX image resolution and WAV play length).
- NEW! Now bundles TBLVIEW32 V2.0 Light Edition to view
.TBL files with syntax-coloring.
- NEW! Now has all features of VPVIEW32 V1.3 implemented.
(incl. FreeSpace 1 TBL decoding, extract to a default dir, etc.)
VPVIEW32 V1.x and V2.0 Beta can be installed parallel on one
system. Just make sure you install them into different dirs (by
default they will).
If you are interested in using this tool for Red Faction or
Summoner we recommend downloading the REDFACTION
KIT, which does not only include the newest version of
VPVIEW32, but also the newest versions of VPPBUILDER32 (for editing
and building .VPP files), VBMVIEW32 (a tool to view VBM animation
files used in Red Faction and Summoner) and the all-new module
RFLAUNCH32 to easily start Red Faction with levels and/or MODs of
your choice. See below for the downloads of both the standalone
edition of VPVIEW32, as well as the REDFACTION KIT. (Note that both
versions bundle TBLVIEW32 V2.0 Light Edition)
